About the ProjectThe goal of the Ontario Drive Stormwater Outlet project is to reduce the risk of shoreline erosion adjacent to approximately 50 private homes located on Ontario Drive in the Town of Ontario. The project covers approximately 4,200 feet of shoreline and entails repairing existing shoreline protection, and installing additional shoreline protections in order to reduce erosion where protections are not currently installed. In addition, the project will upgrade and improve erosion protection around 6 Town owned stormwater outfalls along this same section of shoreline.
Through the REDI (Resiliency & Economic Development Initiative) Grant funding provided by New York State, $1.8 million dollars have been allocated towards the Ontario Drive Stormwater project. A 5% match funding is required by the Town, and can include contributions in the form of labor, equipment or professional services. As part of this funding program, easements are required in order for the improvements to be constructed. Refer to the REDI related documents on this home page for more detailed information regarding this funding program and the project itself. |
